Beyond Reason: The Paradox of Mind in Meditation

Paradox: Derived from Greek, where “para” means “beyond” and “doxa” means “opinion” or “belief.

A thin space is what a paradox unveils. A space that separates what is known, that which the mind has reasoned or believed, from what is unknown to the mind. A thin space where reason comes to and can’t cross. A point where life is beyond reason.

It is a space where duality disappears.

Meditation is a way of coming to this space again and again and again. Because the mind can’t remember or grasp its state when in this space. So it has to journey to it in every practice of meditation. And hence, meditation is a never ending journey for the mind.

I have experienced a lot of wonderful insights in my few years of meditation. It has evolved from what I thought it was to what I think of it now, and will keep evolving. For me, it has been a flow from experiencing body and breath through yoga, to watching thoughts and of late experiencing the awareness beyond it.

Mind is a beautiful piece of creation. It is like a virtual organ. Just like a virtual memory in a computer abstracts physical memory like hard…
